What is Signal?
Signal is a free website visibility scanner operated by IntelliByte Software Solutions LLC, with offices in Memphis, Tennessee (US) and Nairobi, Kenya. It analyses publicly accessible websites and produces a visibility report. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the tool touches at each step, why it is collected, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed. It applies to everything on this domain — the scanner, the results pages, the emailed PDF reports and the admin area we use to follow up with people who ask us to.
What we collect when you run a scan
We store the website address you scan, the scan results, the time of the scan, and your IP address (used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention). Scans read only publicly available pages — we never attempt to access anything behind a login.
What we collect when you request the full report
If you choose to receive the full PDF report, we collect the name and email address you provide. We use them to send you the report and, because Signal is a lead-generation service, the IntelliByte team may follow up once about fixing the issues the scan found. We do not add you to a newsletter, and we do not sell or share your details with third parties.
Service providers
Reports are emailed via Resend. Performance metrics are retrieved from the Google PageSpeed Insights API. The answer-engine simulation processes only the public text of the scanned homepage.
How long we keep scan data
Scan results are retained so that shared report links keep working and so we can compare re-scans against earlier runs. IP addresses are stored only alongside the scan they rate-limited and are never used for marketing, profiling or analytics. Lead details are kept while there is an active conversation about your website and removed on request at any time.
Cookies
The public scanner sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics scripts. The only cookie Signal uses is a session cookie on the internal admin area, which is not accessible to visitors.
Scanning a website you do not own
Signal reads only what any search engine or browser can already see: public pages, public headers and public files like robots.txt. It performs no security probing, submits no forms and respects usual crawling etiquette. If you operate a website and would prefer it not be scannable, email us and we will exclude it.
Your choices
To have a scan or your contact details deleted, email info@intellibyte.dev and we will remove them promptly.
